Requirements - General
For OSU students
- Students need to be enrolled in the TPS-GP (or with a program recognized as qualified for the Dual Degree).
- Students need to have passed the Candidacy Exam at OSU, which must include a faculty member from USP.
- Students must be accepted into the IPCMB at USP/ESALQ.
- Students need to continue to have an average graduate GPA of 3.5 or higher from the graduate courses taken at OSU by the time that they formally request to be under the Dual Degree Program.

Provide the Co-Directors of the Dual Degree the following documentation:
- Transcripts of graduate coursework
- Students need to prepare a 3-page document describing the collaborative project that will be conducted with OSU colleagues under the Dual Degree Program. The project needs to have been approved by the advisors/supervisors at both institutions.
- CV (2 pages) including current research funding of the advisors/supervisors at both institutions.
For USP students
- Must have completed the equivalent of a MSc or 30 credit hours of rigorous course work recognized as suited for the Dual Degree
- Passed the equivalent to a Candidacy Exam at USP, which must include a faculty member from OSU. Students must be in good standing with an average grade of B or higher; equivalent to 8.5 in a 1-10 scale in the completed courses.
- Students must be accepted by TPS-GP
- Registered at OSU for 3 credits during the semester of the Candidacy Exam.

Provide the Co-Directors of the Dual Degree the following documentation:
- Original copy of transcripts from USP with English translation. Original university or post-secondary institution transcripts from each institution attended. Certification of completion of Candidacy Exam or equivalent under the rules of the respective Institutions, USP or OSU, with English translation.
- Official proof of English language skills, minimum TOEFL scores on paper-based TOEFL of at least 550 or higher, or an official score of at least 79 on the internet-based TOEFL.
